2. VIN lookup data
When you submit a VIN, the application sends that VIN to NHTSA services in order to retrieve vehicle information. The application does not intentionally store submitted VINs in a local application database and does not provide user accounts or VIN-search history.
3. Technical data
Like most websites, hosting, network and security providers may automatically process technical information such as IP address, browser information, timestamps, requested pages and security events. Such processing may occur in standard server, network or security logs even though the application itself does not maintain a VIN database.
4. Third-party services
Vehicle decoding and related safety data may be requested from NHTSA-operated services. Those services are governed by their own policies and infrastructure. Hosting, DNS, security or content-delivery providers may also process technical data necessary to deliver and protect the website.
5. Cookies
The core VIN decoding functionality does not require an account. If analytics, advertising or other cookie-based services are introduced, this policy and any required consent controls should be updated before those services are enabled.
